Grand classique des années 70, le single « Dust in the wind » du groupe de rock progressif Kansas a été repris sans cesse depuis son succès en 1977. Je vous propose ici la partition pour piano solo de mon adaptation de leur morceau, accessible aux pianistes de niveaux intermédiaires. On ne s’attarde pas sur le solo de violon figurant sur l’original afin de ne pas augmenter la difficulté, mais on retrouve l’évolution harmonique du chant et le rythme lancinant qui caractérise cette balade mythique.

Great classic of the 70s, the single « Dust in the wind » from the progressive rock band Kansas has been covered endlessly since its success in 1977. Here I propose to you the score for solo piano from my adaptation of their song, accessible to pianists of intermediate levels. We do not dwell on the violin solo appearing on the original in order not to increase the difficulty, but we find the harmonic evolution of the song and the haunting rhythm which characterizes this legendary ballad.
